Overall
This series, and Mindy and Scott, give SUCH meaningful (and entertaining) content to help us move toward fin independence! These guys have helped me personally more than any other source on earth. In 2018 I was still in bankruptcy, bored to tears at work, and having trouble paying monthly bills. Savings went down to 2k. Now am financially free w/ 6 units. Just making the right moves over and over... gradually ...did it. (had had a good position before 2007 but had made a lot of that thru ‘accident’ not thru solid intention ...then blown it and ended up in ch 13 bankruptcy in 2010, pouring savings and IRA down the drain, having a foreclosure etc.) But thanks to these guys - am In the clear now far better than before. Everyone can do it. Thank you so SO much Scott and Mindy !
Wow!
I tripped into bigger pockets by accident one day driving to work and I have listened to over 50 episodes, already. I can’t get enough of Scott and Mindy’s great energy as a team. I have recommended this podcast to everyone I meet and I have started my own journey to FI finally at 47...I have ordered and read a ton of books from this podcasts. Truly a university style education - Thank you, Scott and Mindy. PS..I only joined Facebook just to be part of this group ... 😁
Great podcast! Great hosts!
Scott and Mindy do a great job of making concepts that aren’t taught in a traditional classroom very simple. After listening for a few years I’ve seen exponential growth in my net worth and am much less intimidated around the topics of investment, money management, and even real estate. I was even able to connect with one of the hosts via email which was super cool! -Bob
First time home buyer
I’m not a first time home buyer but I’m buying your book because it has good advice and makes sense. True story, but don’t laugh. My last house was my first flip. We bought it from Auction.com so we were not able to see the house before closing, total shock it had no furnace or water heater and plumbing was stuffed with things, lucky no cement. We are fairly new at this so my husband does all of the work. Ended up with almost 30k in rehab made it gorgeous and made 20k after realtors commission and everything else. So going to read your book to avoid costly mistakes, the reason we didn’t want to keep it was our neighbors, the whole area is wonderful and there’s a golf course near by but we are sandwiched in by the only 2 houses that are not being shown some desperately needed love. So we count our blessings that it sold quickly and we made a profit.
Must listen
As a Certified Financial Planner and someone who works in the industry this is truly a podcast every individual could benefit from hearing regardless of your income level and experience. This is an excellent way to better inform yourself and make more sound financial decisions. Quick compliment to the hosts, I love the way you all break down information, concepts, and solutions in a way that’s easy to understand. Great job!
Love the show
A place where you can learn alot
Worth the listen
Inspiring stories of people on the path to FI. Relatable stories that make FIRE seem attainable. Thank you for the great content and keep it up!!
Great podcast!
Awesome stories and interviews
Should be mandatory listening?
Bigger Pockets money is, simply put, an incredible resource for anyone who wants to get serious about their personal finance. I happen to think everyone should be serious about it, so should this be mandatory listening? Maybe. But we live in America (I do anyway) so people are free to act against their own self interest and ignore this show if they want. The breadth of topics covered and guests on the show is really awesome, and Scott and Mindy are enjoyable hosts. Audio quality is also top notch! All in all, 10/10, will listen again.
Great show on money
FI is. Fun way to make your money work for you. Love the show.
Great
Love it, very educational and spoken in easy terms to understand.
5 stars for Mindy
I appreciate Mindy’s more experienced and frank viewpoints, as this is what makes this podcast stand out from the rest. She balances out Scott and I think they make great co hosts.
Mega Back Door Roth IRAs
Scott and Mindy - Love your show! Talk to your 401(k) Plan provider about adding an After Tax Savings feature to your company’s 401(k) Plan (if you don’t already have this feature). Then you can contribute $58,000 - $19,500 - your company’s matching contribution to the After Tax source. You can then consider investing the After Tax $s in the Stable Value/Fixed fund so as not to create a lot of earnings. Then once per year, you can rollover the After Tax contributions to your Roth IRA. Earnings from the After Tax account need to rollover into a Tradition IRA. Given the prorata rules, you want to keep your Traditional IRA amounts very low in order to receive the tax benefits. Hence the Stable Value/Fixed investment potentially. Hope this helps!
Great Content!
Love the show and all of the useful information it provides - highly recommend for those of you interested in learning more about money/finances/investing/real estate/etc. Keep up the good work!
Love it
I love this podcast. It is informative and entertaining.
Fun and Informative
I find this podcast quite entertaining, yet informative. I really enjoy Mindy’s enthusiasm, balanced out with Scott’s puns. They’re both knowledgeable in real estate and finance and very encouraging! Keep up the great work!
Cmon Mindy
Every single review that is less than 5 stars complains about Mindy, very rarely is there a complaint about Scott. That should speak volumes. If anyone at BP actually reads these, the answer should be obvious.
Great enthusiasm!
I really like to hear Mindy and how excited she is about getting out of debt. I listen on my way to work and love the practical advice. Each episode provide money nuggets to use that day!
Great for teens!
I love this podcast, my dad got me into it and it’s absolutely amazing!! It’s not super applicable as a young person now but it’s awesome to learn more about how money works and how I can try and prepare for my future with all of the thoughts from this show in mind.
Content
The various points of views and topics are spot on! Are use your podcast as discussion topics during my monthly financial accountability meetings. Thanks for your content!
Great money podcast
I love listening to Scott and Mindy explore a multitude of ways to get to financial independence. If you can get over the frequent dad jokes and the way Mindy always struggles with ending the podcast, then this is a great show to listen to.
Chill
I absolutely love this podcast and have started listening from the first one. The only thing that I would change is how incredibly judgmental Mindy is. It’s really unappealing. She also sometimes talks more/over the guests who are allegedly invited to the podcast because they are experts in a particular subject. I wish she would talk less, put her soapbox away, and stop assuming that everyone else is dumb/lazy/whatever.
Engaging and helpful
Scott and Mindy do a great job of making talks about financial independence helpful and enjoyable :) They sometimes have duplicate guests to some of my other financial podcasts (ChooseFI) but I don’t think this takes away much from their podcast, as they ask different questions and gather different information than other hosts!
